I hope Eric doesn't mind my posting that, as it's an opportunity to start a discussion about tweaking things a bit.

As regards this point, I wasn't aware that I hadn't made the group publicly visible - so I will check out the options and see what I can do; not fully familiar with them, you see. I'll get back to you when I've had a look.

Well, it only took me two minutes to make the site publicly visible again - I hope, any way. It's an option in Management|Network privacy. It must default to requiring people to join first.

I don't know what the moderation (moderating?) overhead was that James had to put in, but if I can assist, please let me know. I don't know anything about it, but I'll give it a try.

Hi Mike,

If you'd like to be a moderator, I could do with a spare pair of hands. I imagine the main thing will be to make sure that if we get any trolls on board, we politely escort them off the premises.

There'll no problem with the old members if we manage to get most of them back.

There doesn't appear to be a lot to it, actually, and I have no intention of being the head honcho around here - just another "bozo on the bus" as they say at Caravanserai.

Anyway, I've just given you admin privileges, so have a look around and get back to me if you have any thoughts or ideas.

What can you see and do as administrator, by the way? do you get the "Manage" option at the top of the main page?

I do see the Manage option, and there are four sections of functional options attached to it when I click on it.

Right. That's more or less what I see. So you seem to have similar privileges to me.

I also see Admin options for individual blog and discussion posts - perhaps they show up elsewhere, too.
